Just when you thought they were broken up for good… yet again, Weezer fans can rejoice with the confirmation that “Album Six” is on its way for an April 2008 release. Last month, bassist Scott Shriner released the following statement on Weezer’s official site: “We’ve finished. Album 6 is getting ready for mixing and I have never been so excited about a project in my life. Weezer fans truly have something to look forward to. The entire band has accomplished some of its most challenging goals as a group and as individuals. It’s all coming together on this album. To sum it up, at the beginning of the recording each member asked himself “what do you want out of this session?” The answer lies ahead.”
On the official “Album Six” website, you will also find the release date for another album simply titled “Alone”: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo,’ which is due out on December 18th. Rivers says “This is a CD of my favorite home demos from ’92 to ’07 featuring a lot of never heard before songs, a few covers, a few songs from my unfinished rock musical “Songs From The Black Hole” and my original demo for “Buddy Holly””.
